Lindsay Allason- Jones

Lindsay Allason-Jones is Director of Archaeological Museums for the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and Reader in Roman Material Culture. Her main research interests lie in the lives of the people of the Roman Empire using inscriptions and artefacts as evidence. She has written 9 books (including one novel) and over 100 papers on topics relating to Roman and natives in Britain and the Empire.

Penny Grennan is an experienced writer and writing tutor. She was brought up in East and Central Africa and has a background in Education and English Literature and Language. She has worked extensively in community settings, teaching journalism and creative writing, as well as setting up writing festivals and poetry readings. She is currently studying for a BA in Fine Art and is a trustee of an Arts Centre and a theatre company. She also works as an Arts and Education Consultant.

Bill Griffiths 

Bill Griffiths is Manager of the North East Regional Museums Hub. Prior to this he was Curator of Segedunum Roman Fort, Baths and Museum in Wallsend. He has excavated at many sites in the North East of England and maintains a research interest in the Roman army in general and Military Equipment in particular.
